Translation and Validation of the Drug Abuse Screening Test DAST-20

The Drug Abuse Screening Test-20 was translated and established validation properties to make it a sound assessment tool. A cross-sectional study with descriptive design planned which involved survey methods conducted at Riphah International University, Faisalabad. Four experts from the psychology field literature were approached for forward backward translation process. responses on original versions collected adults aged between 19 60 years public private drug abuse treatment units in Faisalabad through convenient sampling approach. reliability validity features of scale assessed using confirmatory factor analysis. SPSS 23 AMOS software used statistical analyses. Urdu DAST shown have highly substantial positive association each item item-total correlation, making an internally consistent measure abuse. Internal consistency also found significant. Moreover, results analysis revealed good acceptable model fit retained one-factor structure similar version. findings held high-reliability coefficients maintained universality Scholars, psychologists, family consultants, mental health sociological professionals who desire examine emotive, perceptual, behavioral components Pakistani population will find version useful.
